A Premier Grand Cru Classé, an international portfolio of properties and a network of more than 80 distributors: product data reliability is as much a brand issue as an operational one.
Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) attaches great importance to information about its various wines and to its authenticity.
"At first, we only had a corporate website, but it wasn't designed for the use of QR codes. It took too many clicks to reach the wine's product sheet," explains Nathalie. It was therefore necessary to find a solution to streamline this process. That is why DBR chose to use the vin.co platform as early as 2011.
DBR chose to centralize its information in order to better distribute it on the product sheets linked to the Smart QR Code on the back label. The aim is to redirect consumers to the sheet for the most recent vintage and to guarantee information that is always up to date.
Moreover, "we get precise statistics on the number of QR Codes scanned. We can also find out which item was scanned and in which geographic area," notes Nathalie. Finally, "we had a website in seven languages, so the sheets had to be available in multiple languages."
"Consumers have instant access to information, and the added value is linking the wine to a product sheet, which provides a form of authentication for the consumer."
"Many consumers in Asia use QR codes; it's a great opportunity for us."
"In the future, we would like to be able to interact more with the people who have scanned our products. Many consumers in Asia use QR codes; it's a great opportunity for us," notes Florence.
"We would like to move toward personalized product sheets, with a sheet better suited in terms of design, tone and information content" — such is the outlook for Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite).
